Kickass! Grappas!

Greenbelt is where my brothers, my dad and I usually go for lunch since our office is just right across.  Normally, our lunch routine starts out at one of the Filipino themed restaurants along Greenbelt 5 or the more affordable ones at Greenbelt 1 and ends with coffee and dessert at Mary Grace.

Today though,  we decided to eat at Grappas.  This time, the stiff ambiance, nor the seemingly high prices on the menu couldn't stop us from going to this place. The sole reason, Clinton Nuyda,  a very talented chef from the States whom the establishment hired a few months back, that made us want to come over and savor his culinary creations.

To the food we go...

Apart from the normal menu Grappas serves here and abroad, we were handed a booklet containing all the Chef's specials for the week ... ( yup, it changes every week!)  I ordered the 2 course business lunch   and a stromboli for everyone to share.

This is how my lunch was today ...

Freshly brewed ice - tea with syrup
Quite the drink one would look for on a hot
day like today!

Seafood Cioppino, nice and light
Simple yet full of flavors from the sea

Stromboli, the perfect contrast to the Cioppino
Bold, robust flavors of Italian Sausages, Salami, Pancetta
and Cheese.

Grilled US Topblade Steak
Medium rare, subtle au jus to bring out
the flavor of the steak.

To cap our lunch
Tiramisu with fresh fruit
Wonderful, no wonder its the best-seller!
The Chef's Specials, quite the treat and something to look forward to every week.  As his friends and colleagues in the culinary world call him - Chef Clint, the surprise kitchen!

Grappas - Stiff ambiance (still has... ), high prices ( depends! ...)  After having eaten there today,  I am convinced that for a businessman's lunch, its price is probably the most reasonable compared to other restos that offer this.   And more than that, I left happy, knowing that i didn't feel cheated with the food i ate ... apart from the generous servings, ( none of the "fine dining portions" here...) ,  the food tasted great!

Don't believe me, go try and see for yourselves!
