Chocolates. Coffee. Friends. 3 ingredients that make my perfect Saturday afternoon. Last weekend, my friends and I decided to go on this mini - culinary adventure of Makati Avenue. Our first stop,a small cafe called Paris Delice.
Since we were in a french themed cafe, it was but fitting to relive our French adventure last year by ordering the stuff we ate and drank while enjoying our afternoons in Paris, Avignon, Nice and Monte Carlo. As we approached the counter, i couldn't hide my excitement when my eyes were met with this wonderful display of pastries, mostly chocolate pastries...

When i saw this, I just wanted to order all of them. But because this was just our first stop, I had to practice self control - lots of food ahead. So me being me, I ordered the usual suspects - Espresso doppio, Pain au chocolat and of course the piece de resistance, the Chocolate Beignet!
Rich aroma, bold taste, and full of flavor, the coffee was great. Boyd's Coffee, in my opinion, one of the better tasting coffee you'll get here in the Philippines. The Pain au chocolat was flaky enough to know that whoever did this was generous with butter. Although I would have wanted it warmer as the chocolate wasn't as silky as i imagined it to be.
As for the Beignet, being the star and the main reason why I came to Paris Delice, I requested if i could have it heated just enough for the chocolate to ooze out with every slice, with every bite ...
