Match made in CHOCOLATE Heaven!

Chocolates. Coffee. Friends. 3 ingredients that make my perfect Saturday afternoon.   Last weekend, my friends and I decided to go on this mini - culinary adventure of Makati Avenue.  Our first stop,a small cafe called Paris Delice.

my favorite, Nutella Beignets, Pain Au Chocolat,
and the Chocolate Croissants

The French Usual Suspects

When i saw this, I just wanted to order all of them.  But because this was just our first stop, I had to practice self control - lots of food ahead.  So me being me, I ordered the usual suspects - Espresso doppio, Pain au chocolat and of course the piece de resistance, the Chocolate Beignet!

Rich aroma, bold taste, and full of flavor, the coffee was great. Boyd's Coffee, in my opinion, one of the better tasting coffee you'll get here in the Philippines.  The Pain au chocolat was flaky enough to know that whoever did this was generous with butter.  Although I would have wanted it warmer as the chocolate wasn't as silky as i imagined it to be.

As for the Beignet,  being the star and the main reason why I came to Paris Delice, I requested if i could have it heated just enough for the chocolate to ooze out with every slice, with every bite ...

Don't let looks deceive you...

NUTELLA ...

The Perfect Ooze!
It was love at first bite!  A perfect marriage of fluffy, light dough, filled with a generous amount of Nutella ... and Me, one person who enjoys chocolate, dark chocolate, like no other.  No other words to describe it.  It was Bliss, plain and simple.

My friends and I ...

and the person responsible for the pics...
Anna.
After having our fill of chocolate, caffeine and laughter ( we were LOUD! .. as usual!) that afternoon, my friends decided it was time move on for wine at Barcino and  a movie at Rockwell, before heading to dinner at Chihuahua Mexican Grill ...
